More than 80 students connected to the the pharmaceutical faculty at Uppsala University visted us at the Pfizer office in Silverdal, Sollentuna, today. These contacts with students, a very important stakeholder to us, are invaluable to me. It is a brilliant opportunity to discuss, to influence and to be influenced. On the agenda today was in addition to information about Pfizer and the research and development within the industry, also discussions about working in the industry (a topic always of interest to students) and about Pfizer's environmental and social sustainability programs. The latter issue of course took a lot of my focus during the visit.
Ingrid Hasselberg, Stella Aliadis, and Sofia Risberg gave their perspectives on working at Pfizer. Due to their background (from a university pharmaceutical faculty) they of course could really help the students to see their potential future.
I was on stage both in the beginning of the visit (discussion among other things animal testing during research and development) and in the end of the visit (then focusing on CSR and environmental issues).
You will not be surprised to know, if you have followed my blog previously, that among the slides I showed for the students was "the Sustainable Quadrant".
I just love this opportunities to discuss our issues and programs with our stakeholders, especially students. It is so important for the development and refinement of our strategies!
