In the blog post from Nov 28, I discussed my strong opinion that it is time that government takes the next steps when it comes to the environmental proposals from the Pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Inquiry. I like to see the proposals on green economic incentives in the generic substitution system be further developed in order to facilitate implementation during 2015 at the latest. As I commented in the blog post, we have still not seen any actions taken by government on the topic. This is strange! I really expect actions to be taken in order for government to be aligned with the communications on next phases regarding the Chemical Bill, as stated for instance in an article in Helsingborgs Dagblad earlier today. Once again it is evident that government has the opinion that the high ambitions on the international level need to be supported by action staken on the Swedish market. In the article, our Minister for the Environment among others, say e.g. (my own rough translations of quotes in the article)

- Sweden should of course be able to move faster than EU with national initiatives

- The information should be improved in order for consumers to be able to make well informed choices

- Systems should be implemented as a compliment to regulations

- Government wants to evaluate economic incentives

All of this, in my opinion, points towards a continuation of the environmental ideas presented by the Pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Inquiry! It is time to press the Green Button!
